[Urwid] Is there a way to set the root widget in browser.py to something like /home or /Users?

I've just started looking at the urwid system and like what I see. I was
just wondering if the "root" of the tree can be set to a directory like
/home or /Users. I would like to limit selections to these locations if
possible.
